Deploying Web-Browser Apps

For web browser-based (i.e. nonstandard Win32) applications, the needed system file is the KeyCheck ActiveX Automation Server (for Local or Network Key).

Machine/USB License

The table below lists the needed KeyCheck ActiveX for the application protected as Machine and USB License. The ActiveX must be included with the application, and registered to Windows on the end-user’s system before use.

Application Type : OS

System Files

Available in Directory

Web Browser-Based : Windows NT 4.0/2000/ XP/2003/Vista/7/8 (x86/x64)

EKAS20.EXE

\LIBRARY\KEYCHECK ACTIVEX\LOCALKEY

To register the ActiveX, execute it with the parameter /regserver (e.g. Ekas20.exe /regserver). Or, you may use the provided batch file, available in the folder:

\LIBRARY\KEYCHECK ACTIVEX\LOCALKEY\REGISTER.BAT

To unregister the ActiveX, execute it with the parameter /unregserver (e.g. Ekas20.exe /unregserver). Or, you may use the provided batch file, available in the folder:

\LIBRARY\KEYCHECK ACTIVEX\LOCALKEY\UNREGISTER.BAT

Network License

The table below lists the needed KeyCheck ActiveX for the application protected as Network License. The ActiveX must be included with the application, and registered to Windows on the end-user’s system before use.

Application Type : OS

System Files

Available in Directory

Web Browser-Based : Windows NT 4.0/2000/ XP/2003/Vista/7/8 (x86/x64)

NKAS20.EXE

\LIBRARY\KEYCHECK ACTIVEX\NETWORKKEY

To register the ActiveX, execute it with the parameter /regserver (e.g. Nkas20.exe /regserver). Or, you may use the provided batch file, available in the folder:

\LIBRARY\KEYCHECK ACTIVEX\NETWORKKEY\REGISTER.BAT

To unregister the ActiveX, execute it with the parameter /unregserver (e.g. Nkas20.exe /unregserver). Or, you may use the provided batch file, available in the folder:

\LIBRARY\KEYCHECK ACTIVEX\NETWORKKEY\UNREGISTER.BAT

Besides the above system file, the application also needs the Network Key configuration file, which specifies the parameters for connecting to the NetKey License Server. The default file name is NETKEY.INI, or you can change the file name as you want. The file must be placed in the same folder as the protected executable.

For more information on how to deploy the NetKey License Server and Network License, see the NetKey License Server section.

note NOTE: Because the Network Key configuration file must be configured by the user in accordance to their network environment. The user should be advised how to use this file.
